Store Policy
This is the store policy for SmartECU Desk, sold by Callum James Rosser trading as SmartECU Solutions (ABN 92 454 641 272). It sits next to the Terms of Service.
What you are buying
A recurring software licence for one workshop PC. The key is tied to the workshop email and that computer’s Machine ID. A second PC is a second seat.
- Monthly: A$49 per PC
- Yearly: A$490 per PC
Prices are in Australian dollars. Any GST that must be charged is shown at Stripe Checkout and on the invoice.
Delivery
Desk is digital. There is no physical shipping.
- Anyone can download the Windows installer from smartecusolutions.com.au.
- First install includes a 14-day trial.
- After payment, we issue a paid key to the email used at checkout, for the Machine ID you send us (Help → Copy machine ID).
- Keys are usually issued the same business day. If you have paid and have not received a key, email [email protected].
Because this is software delivered electronically, there is nothing to post back. “Returns” means cancelling the subscription and stopping use of the key.
Cancellation
Cancel any time:
- from the Stripe customer portal linked on your receipt, or
- by emailing [email protected] from the licensed email.
Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep Desk until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not refund unused days on a change of mind (for example you decided not to use the second PC, or you switched shops).
Refunds
Change of mind. No refund after a paid key has been issued for that PC, except where Australian Consumer Law requires one. Use the 14-day trial to test Desk on the workshop PC before you pay.
Yearly plan cooling-off. If you buy a yearly plan and have not had a usable paid key issued, or Desk will not Activate on a supported Windows PC after a fair attempt, email us within 14 days of payment and we will refund that yearly charge.
Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under the ACL. If Desk is not of acceptable quality, not fit for the purpose we described, or does not match the description (for example it will not run as workshop record-keeping and log-comparison software on a supported PC), you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. A major failure generally entitles you to a refund of unused value. A minor failure we will fix or resupply within a reasonable time.
What is not a failure of Desk. Road-load figures that differ from a chassis or hub dynamometer are expected. Desk is not a dyno certificate. An unsupported vehicle, a slow sample-rate log, a wrong mass on the job, or a sheet a customer disagrees with is not grounds for a change-of-mind refund.
How to claim. Email [email protected] with the payment email, Machine ID, and a short description of the problem. We will respond within two business days.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe.
Failed payments and chargebacks
If a renewal fails, the key may be suspended until the invoice is paid. Talk to us before filing a chargeback — chargebacks add fees and can delay a genuine refund.
Privacy
We collect:
- workshop name and email
- Machine ID and licence status
- payment and billing details (processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers)
- job and log data you choose to keep in Desk on your own PC
We use that information to issue keys, bill subscriptions, send product updates, and provide support. We do not sell your data. We may use a hosting or email provider to operate the site and app.smartecusolutions.com.au.
You can ask what we hold, or ask us to delete account records we no longer need for tax or licence enforcement, by emailing [email protected].
